Infectious Diseases Clinic

The Infectious Diseases Clinic provides outpatient care for complex infectious diseases.  We provide consultative services for infections of the blood, heart, bone, post-operative infections, tropical diseases and infections in children. 


The Infectious Diseases Clinic is located on Level 1 of the North tower within Ambulatory Care. 

Hours of Operation

  • Tuesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Patients are seen by referral.


Referrals must be completed by a physician. To refer a patient for the Infectious Diseases Clinic, complete the Infectious Diseases Clinic Referral form and fax to 905-681-4879.


Once referred, we will call you to book an appointment. Patients are seen in order of urgency, instead of first-come first-served.

  • Heart infection
  • Bone infection
  • Post-operative infections
  • Tropical diseases
  • Infections in children


In-person appointment

  • Ensure you have your Ontario Health Card or proof of medical coverage
  • Arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment
  • Check-in at the registration desk 
  • Bring a list of your current medications

Virtual appointment

  • Follow the instructions provided in your virtual visit confirmation 
  • Have a list of your current medications readily available

What to Expect

In-person appointment

  • Your visit may take up to an hour or more
  • Blood and other laboratory work may be required depending on the assessment.  
  • Diagnostic Imaging may be required depending on the assessment.
