With the opening of the new tower in 2017, our state-of-the-art facility now boasts large operating rooms, an updated post-anesthetic care unit (P.A.C.U.) and expanded surgical services.

Our Surgical Department provides a range of services and performs over 17,000 procedures annually. Our program is dedicated to providing excellent, safe, and evidence-based surgical care to Burlington and the surrounding areas.

Our team includes surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nurses, staff, and volunteers.


We offer a broad range of comprehensive surgical specialties, including: general surgery, vascular, gynaecology, plastics, urology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, otolaryngology, and dental. Parking passes are available at a reduced rate for family members or friends who come to the hospital to help with the daily care of a patient whose length of stay is greater than one (1) week. For more information, please visit the Parking & Directions page. 

Uninsured costs are the responsibility of the family/patient to cover. Costs may include any transport fees, supplies, or equipment such as support (TED) stockings or crutches.

4. Occupational Therapy Questionnaire

Please complete this questionnaire and bring it to your in-person visit with internal medicine/ anaesthesia.  Please submit this questionnaire to the nurse.

5. Respite Care 

If you think you might need additional supports upon discharge home, you might consider Respite Care. There is a cost for this and you would be responsible for organizing this prior to your surgery.
