Social Media Terms of Use

Joseph Brant Hospital and the JBH Foundation jointly manage JBH’s social media sites. We welcome your comments and encourage open and engaging discussion and dialogue on our social media sites. 

In order to create safe and fair participation online, we have established guidelines for those who wish to engage on our social media channels.

By interacting with Joseph Brant Hospital and the JBH Foundation online, you agree to:

• Be respectful towards all users of the site.
• Not post or upload content that is unrelated to the page or post.
• Not post or upload content that is offensive, inflammatory or provocative, including swearing, obscene or vulgar comments.
• Not use language that is discriminatory, hateful, or violent towards identifiable groups or that incites others to discriminate, practice hate or violence.
• Not post or upload content that breaks the law or encourage others to do so. This includes defamation, breaching privacy, breaching another person’s intellectual property rights such as copyright, condoning illegal activity and contempt of court.
• Not post personal information such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other online contact details relating either to you or to other individuals.
• For the privacy and safety of our hospital staff and physicians, you also agree not to tag individuals that link to their personal social media profiles.
• Not impersonate or falsely claim to represent a person or an organization.
• Not register more than one user account per person.
• Not make any commercial endorsement or promotion of any product, service or publication.
• If you are aged 16 or under, you will obtain your parent’s/guardian’s permission before participating.
• Abide by the Terms of Use for the companies hosting the site (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

Violating these social media commenting guidelines could result in removal of your comment(s) and/or blocked access to our social channels.
