Admission to a Complex Care unit is considered part of the continuum of care - a stop along the way in the patient's journey. Patients are continually assessed in preparation for discharge to a more appropriate setting where their ongoing needs can be met.
An application must be completed before admission to any of the programs to ensure that the patient’s needs are properly met.
Patients admitted to these units are charged a co-payment to cover accommodation expenses in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care regulations.
Joseph Brant Hospital Complex Care and Rehabilitation Services are comprised of two units with a total of 62 beds:
- 6 Medically Complex beds located on 4 East
- 14 Active Rehabilitation beds located on 6SW
