Visiting Hours

At Joseph Brant Hospital we have a 24 hour flexible visiting policy. Visiting hours are established in consultation with the patient and may be adjusted based on the clinical care needs of the patient or roommate.

Please note that the hours between 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. are considered quiet time.

After 8:30 p.m. access to the Hospital is restricted to the Emergency Department Walk-In Entrance and our Pedestrian walkway from our parking garage.  A Security Station is located just inside the door of the Emergency Department and is open 24 hours a day. Once you have checked in, Security will contact the unit where you visiting.

Please confirm with the Communication Station when you arrive at the desired floor.

Children who require supervision must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient.

To protect our patients, please use the hand washing stations located at all our entrances. Do not visit the hospital if you or your children are feeling sick, have a fever or cough, have diarrhea or vomiting.

Emergency Department (ED)

  • One (1) visitor per patient.
  • Patients awaiting an ICU admission, may receive visits from immediate family as their condition permits.
  • Please decide on one contact person to call the hospital outside of visiting hours who can then relay information to other family members and friends.
