Wearing a Mask

To keep our hospital safe, everyone who enters our site is required to wear a mask. This is our organization’s policy, in accordance with provincial direction and consistent with the City of Burlington’s municipal bylaw on mandatory masking in enclosed public spaces.

Medical-grade masks

Cloth masks and personal face coverings are not permitted. You will be provided a medical-grade mask on entry. It must remain on for the duration of your stay.

If you have a medical condition that prevents you from wearing a mask, let us know. We will work with you to ensure your well-being and the safety of those around you. Admitted patients are also exempt from wearing a mask while inside their hospital room. However, if a patient needs to leave their room for any reason (e.g. mobility), wearing a mask is required.

Refusal to wear a mask

Anyone who refuses to properly wear a mask will not be permitted entry to the hospital.

Commitment to safety

While our hospital remains a safe place, we want to ensure the highest level of safety possible.

Your cooperation is essential to preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our hospital and community. By wearing a mask, you’re helping to protect yourself, as well as others.
