After shadowing a Registered Nurse at her local hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) while in high school, Amber was driven to pursue a career in nursing and critical care.

She joined the ICU team at Joseph Brant Hospital (JBH) after graduating from nursing school. She credits teamwork, a multidisciplinary environment and the opportunity for continued learning and career advancement for her 8.5-year tenure at JBH.

“It’s a challenging but supportive environment in the ICU,” she said. “I’ve experienced long, hard days but have also equally experienced days of joy and reward.”
