Health Screening

Health screening must be completed before starting a placement in the hospital. This includes:

  • A two-step TB test (completed at your physicians office)
  • Blood work to confirm immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (chicken pox) or last two dates when boosters were administered.
  • Full vaccination to COVID-19

Completion of the health screening may require 4 or more visits to your family physician.

About the COVID-19 vaccine

Volunteers are included in Directive #6 and are recognized as health care workers.  As such, all volunteers at Joseph Brant Hospital must show proof of full vaccination (plus 14 days). There are no exceptions to this mandate.

Parking is free for volunteers while on shift. Free parking is available in the parking garage on levels 3 & 4.
