Due to COVID-19 we are not currently recruiting volunteers.  

If you are interested in volunteering, please follow social media channels and this website for notifications when we begin to recruit again. 

Thank you for your interest and support. 

Volunteers are carefully screened and selected based on a number of factors, including successful completion of a:

  • Volunteer Information Session (Register for one of the dates below)
  • Volunteer application  (see Apply Online below)
  • Personal interview (booked by Volunteer Resources after attendance at Volunteer Information Session)
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
  • Health Requirements Form (will be given at the time of the interview)
  • Personal Reference Form
  • Acknowledgement and adherence to the Joseph Brant Hospital Code of Conduct 
  • Successful completion of role-specific on the job training

Space is limited. Advance registration is available by email or telephone. Please apply online before you register for an information session. Thank you.

Health Screening

Health screening must be completed before starting a placement in the hospital. This includes:

  • A two-step TB test
  • Blood work to confirm immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (chicken pox) or last two dates when boosters were administered. Please have your doctor complete the Health Requirements form.

Completion of the health screening may require 4 or more visits to your family physician. Please ensure you can make the commitment to follow through with the required paperwork.

Parking

Parking is free for volunteers and prospective volunteers in the Parking Garage. Parking tickets are validated in the Auxiliary & Volunteer Services offices. 

Free Parking does not apply to parking in the Pay & Display lots.
