The Pre-Operative Planning Clinic is open to patients scheduled for a surgical procedure at our hospital.
Location
Pre-operative Planning Clinic is located on Level 1 of the North tower in Ambulatory Care.
Hours of Operation
Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Referrals
Patients are seen on referral from a surgeon.
Physician
Patients are scheduled for an appointment on receipt of the Eventus booking slip.

Preparation
In-person appointments are limited to pre-operative medicine and pre-operative anesthesia. Patients not requiring pre-operative medicine or pre-operative anesthesia will be contacted by telephone by one of our pre-operative nurses. (See virtual visit page).
- Ensure you have your Ontario Health Card or proof of medical coverage.
- Prepare a list of current prescription and non-prescription medication.
- Obtain a MedsCheck from your community pharmacy
- Review your pre-operative planning package.
- Complete all relevant forms and documentation.
- Write down any questions you may have.
- Review relevant pre-operative instructions
In-person appointment
- Arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment.
- Check-in at the registration desk.
Virtual appointment
- Follow the instructions provided in your virtual visit confirmation.
