The Anesthesia Clinic is open to patients scheduled for a surgical procedure at our hospital. The goal of Anesthesia Clinic is to help our staff determine your needs as a patient, and prepare you for your surgery.
Location
The Anesthesia Clinic is within Ambulatory Care, Level 1 of the North tower 1N 600.
Hours of Operation
Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Referrals
Patients are seen by referral from their surgeon.
Physician
Referrals must be completed by a surgeon. To refer a patient for the Anesthesia Clinic, please complete the request on the Eventus Booking form. A Cumulative Patient Profile must be sent at the time of referral.

Once referred, we will call you to book an appointment.
Services
- Pre-anesthesia assessment and evaluation.
- Review of surgical-anesthetic process, risks and alternatives.
- Review of pre-anesthetic instruction.
Preparation
- Ensure you have your Ontario Health Card or proof of medical coverage
- Prepare a list of current prescription and non-prescription medication.
- Review your pre-operative planning package.
- Write down any questions you may have.
- Arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to your appointment
- Check-in at the registration desk
What to expect
- Your visit may take up to an hour or more.
- You will meet with a pre-operative nurse and a anesthesiologist. Depending on your case, you may also meet with an internal medicine physician.
- Blood and other laboratory work may be required depending on the assessment.
