Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Program
The Child and Adolescent Psychiatric (CAP) provides early intervention support to children/youth under the age of 18 years allowing for a faster integration back to home and school.
The Process:
- You will be contacted by our team for an intake. This may include meeting with a social worker or nurse over the phone and taking a history of the presenting concerns.
- It will be determined where your and/or your child's needs will be best served, and assistance to navigate to said resources.
- If it is determined that an appointment with a psychiatrist is indicated, this will get booked as soon as possible.
- You may be asked to complete questionnaires or forms prior to the appointment, or to send in other information such as previous report cards or copies of previous assessments, if applicable.
- If it is determined that psychotherapy is indicated, you may be connected either to a therapist/group/program within JBH; or, if the therapy or program is not available at JBH, you may be navigated to external partners such Reach Out Centre for Kids.
