9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
Please note that we are closed on statutory holidays.

Patient Information & Education
Being informed is key to improving your experience during your stay at the hospital.

Depending on your healthcare needs, you may visit the Pre-Operative Planning Clinic for further assessments and testing before your procedure.

If you are scheduled for a Day Surgery procedure, here is what to expect:

  • For outpatients, arrive two (2) hours before your scheduled surgery and check in at the registration desk with your health card and all required forms or documents.
  • For inpatients, report to the Admitting Department 2 hours prior to the Operation Room (O.R.) time located on Level 1 of the South Tower (1S106)
  • You will wait in the lounge until a member of your healthcare team takes you into the Day Surgery Unit
  • You will be prepared for your surgery and be transported to the O.R.
  • Your surgeon will see you prior to the surgery
  • After your procedure, you may spend time in the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (P.A.C.U.) to recover

After your stay in P.A.C.U., you will either be transported to:

  • Day Surgery until ready to be discharged.
Please arrange in advance to have someone take you home and assist you. You must not drive yourself home.
  • A Surgical Inpatient room depending on the surgical procedure or your health care needs

Please be aware that surgeries may be delayed or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. We will make every effort to keep patients and families informed of delays and cared for in a timely manner.

Keep any valuables, including money, at home.

Family Information:
Our nurses and volunteers will let families know where to wait and inform them of expected wait times.
