It is with profound sadness that Joseph Brant Hospital and the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation acknowledge the passing of Ronald V. Joyce.
Mr. Joyce was best known as the legendary Canadian entrepreneur who, in 1964, invested in the first Tim Hortons donut shop in Hamilton and then grew the business into one of the most successful food service chains in the world.
We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Joyce's family and the many people whose lives were made better by Mr. Joyce's philanthropic support.
His generosity has been felt across the country in education, healthcare, and children's charities. Here at home, Mr. Joyce's donation of $7.5 Million in support of the redevelopment and expansion of Joseph Brant Hospital has made an indelible mark on the health of our community that will not soon be forgotten.
We are so thankful to Mr. Joyce and The Joyce Family Foundation for their incredible generosity and support for healthcare in Burlington which is impacting the lives of our community every day.
We feel privledged and honoured to have had the opportunity to get to know Mr. Joyce over the last few years and witness first-hand his entrepreneurial and generous spirit.
We have lost a great Canadian and he will be missed.
