Volunteers are carefully screened and selected based on a number of factors, including successful completion of a:


  • Volunteer Information Session (Register for one of the dates below)
  • Volunteer application  (see Apply Online below)
  • Personal interview (booked by Volunteer Resources after attendance at Volunteer Information Session)

Youth High School Recruitment for Fall/Winter 2020 is now closed. Spring information session dates will be posted in the New Year. 

Volunteer information sessions are hosted once per month. 

Upcoming Dates

  • Tuesday, November 19, 5:30 - 7 p.m.  (Adults only)
  • Wednesday, December 18, 2 - 3:30 p.m. (Adults only)

Health Screening

Health screening must be completed before starting a placement in the hospital. This includes:

  • A two-step TB test
  • Blood work to confirm immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (chicken pox) or last two dates when boosters were administered. Please have your doctor complete the Health Requirements form.

Completion of the health screening may require 4 or more visits to your family physician. Please ensure you can make the commitment to follow through with the required paperwork. 


Successful applicants are not guaranteed placement.

Parking is free for volunteers and prospective volunteers in the Parking Garage. Parking tickets are validated in the Auxiliary & Volunteer Services offices. 

Free Parking does not apply to parking in the Pay & Display lots.
