Student Volunteer Opportunities

 

Youth Volunteering

Youth volunteers add a dynamic component to the volunteer program. Volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years of age and entering high school.

Without exception, youth volunteers must complete 100 hours of services prior to a letter of reference or verification of hours for the 40-hour high school requirement.

Youth volunteers do not require a Criminal Reference check.

Summer 

In the summer months, the youth program is very active. Spots are limited. Applications for the summer season must be submitted by May. 

Autumn, Winter & Spring

Recruitment for the Fall term begins in August. Please check back then. 

Auxiliary Youth Scholarship Award 

Each year, the Auxiliary makes available a $1,500 Scholarship for a youth volunteer who has contributed outstanding service to our hospital. 

Applications are available through the Volunteer Resources office.

Eligibility

  • Actively volunteering
  • In highschool
  • Accepted into a post-secondary program.
  • Completed a minimum of 200 hours of service
